Paris in a weekend

From the moment we stepped off the plane, Kirsten and I fell in love with Paris (that was partly due to the gorgeous weather we had while we were there).  Above was the worst day we experienced, weather wise.  Such a nice break from the 0 degree C, snowy weather in Stockholm.

Below is Audrey my cousin, and I.  For only meeting twice in our lives, we are two peas in a pod. Kirsten and I were so lucky to be able to be shown around Paris by a true Parisian who could navigate the city, the metro, and the language!

Audrey, Kirsten and I in front and behind the Notre Dame.

We decided not to go inside, because the outside is the most beautiful part anyway.

Back of Notre Dame.

One of the love lock bridges in Paris.  Together, couples put an engraved lock onto the bridge and throw the key into the water to symbolize their never-ending love for each other. So romantic and sweet reading and looking at all the locks.  What is not so romantic, is that at night people come and cut off locks to make room for new locks because as you can see, there's not much room.

Black, white and Audrey all over.

Cute cafes on every corner.

Amorino. The best gelato I have ever had, and in the shape of a flower! You can get as many kinds as you like. One of the many desserts we had on this trip.  We liked to say, we had a Parisian fika everyday. (Kirsten's photo)

Doors of Paris

Street side falafel.  (Photos put together by Kirsten) Best falafel of my life! The line was out the door of the hole in the wall restaurant.  The 30 minute wait was definitely worth it.  All four of us girls had polished off our entire falafel within 5 minutes of receiving it.  Once again...eating our way through Paris.

Farmers market right down the street from Audrey's flat. The freshest produce I have had in a while!

The best thing about the trip, was leaving the flat in light jackets, ready and so excited for what the day had in store.  Every morning we walked to the bakery to pick up a pasty or croissant and coffee to start our day. Ahhh vacation mornings...

STARBUCKS.  Those of you that are scoffing at us...just wait.  When you have lived the past 4 years in the Starbucks capital of the world (and 2 Starbucks' on each block), and then move away to a country that doesn't have Starbucks, you would act the same way. Although when Kirsten and I told them our names, this is what we received.

The delicious Eric Kayser bakery around the corner from Audrey's flat, where we picked up pastries every morning. (Its a good thing this trip only lasted one weekend, because I would be in line at that bakery every day if I lived there). So good!

Inside the bakery.

Trying out different settings with my new camera.

Andrea, Audrey and Kirsten.

Tampered with signs all over Paris.

Red Light District and Moulin Rouge! Made me in the mood to watch the movie.

More Parisian fika.

Lourve.

Laduree.

Pastry number....oh wait, we aren't counting. Time to hit the gym!

Arc de Triomphe.

Stairs leading up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe.

 It's the little things.

Ferris wheel. Got to the top right when the Eiffel Tower sparkled!

Au revoir city of lights! See you in July...
